The Magic Of A Play

There is something truly special about attending a play. The moment the lights dim and the curtain rises, you are transported to a completely different world. Plays offer a unique form of entertainment; they combine the raw energy of live performances with captivating stories that touch your heart. From comedy to tragedy, every moment is heightened by the presence of the actors and their direct interaction with the audience.

It is the thrill of the unexpected that makes plays so exciting. Unlike films, where everything is prerecorded, each stage performance is unique. Mistakes, improvisations, and the chemistry between the actors add a layer of authenticity that cannot be experienced in any other way.

Therein lies the reason that I love to play in Plays. Below you can find some information about plays I have been part of.

All Shook Up

Technicolor Dreamcoat

The Collies shed

Cast as Sheriff Earl in the stage production of "All Shook Up" by Joe Dipietro.
All Shook Up is based upon original Elvis
Presley songs but the story is all new and depicts a farce that will have you sitting on the tip of your chair laughing out loud and singing along with many known Elvis songs.

In this incredible play, I was completely transformed into an amazing outfit, playing Jacob, Joseph’s father. The cast was wonderful, and besides delivering great performances, we had a lot of fun during rehearsals and on stage during the plays themselves.

In August 2024, I had the privilege of performing live on Stage at The Edinburgh Fringe with “The Collies Shed,” a production by Shelley Midler. This production had already graced the Stage in 2023 and had received numerous rave reviews, earning it 4 and 5-star ratings.

Acting & Writing

Playing a role in a movie or a play is an incredibly enjoyable and fulfilling job. It has been a rewarding experience to have been on various sets and collaborated with different directors on numerous projects. This experience inspired me to try my hand at writing scripts. After completing a few scripts and discussing them with friends and family, we selected two that you can find below.

I would love you to rate these short films by selecting the number of stars you want to give them.

The Deal

I wrote a script called " The Deal" which is about a son and his father discussing recent events, where the son has done some things he shouldn't have but dad is supportive of his son and helps him.

Check out this short film which stars John Walker Gray in the role of Dad and Bryan Jamieson as the son.

Fatherhood

I’ve written another script about Fatherhood. It portrays a real-life scenario where a daughter discovers that her father, the one she’s known her entire life, isn’t her biological father. This raises the question of whether it’s truly crucial for a father to be a biological parent or if simply being present and providing care is equally important. You can decide for yourself.

John walker Gray is the Father, Carmen Julia White is the daughter.

All filming of these short films has been done on private grounds, using standard equipment. Camera work was done by Jacky Rankine White with some primary video editing done by Carmen Julia White. The final film was edited by Peter Broerse.
